Product code: E-UMPK

High purity Uridylate kinase (prokaryote) for use in research, biochemical enzyme assays and in vitro diagnostic analysis.

Description

High purity Uridylate kinase (prokaryote) for use in research, biochemical enzyme assays and in vitro diagnostic analysis.

EC 2.7.4.22
CAS: 9036-23-1

ATP:UMP phosphotransferase; UMP-kinase; uridine monophosphate kinase

Recombinant. From a prokaryote. Electrophoretically homogeneous, pI 6.9.
In 3.2 M ammonium sulphate
Supplied at ~ 700 U/mL.

Specific activity:
~ 24 U/mg (25oC, pH 7.6 on UMP).

Stability:  > 4 years at 4oC.

Unit definition:
One unit of activity is defined as the amount of enzyme required to form one μmole of UDP from UMP and ATP at pH 7.6 at 25oC.

Specificity:
Catalyses the reaction:

ATP + UMP = ADP + UDP

Catalyses the ATP-dependent phosphorylation of Uridine monophosphate (UMP) into Uridine diphosphate (UDP).

Applications:
Applications in the measurement of UMP.
